Politics has been in my life one way or another, and I would like to give something back by serving people and communities.

My motivation to join the Conservative Party comes very much from my upbringing. I was the first to go to university, after my parents moved to the UK from Turkey in the late 1980s.

They settled here and worked hard for me and my sister; my dad working as a HGV driver and mum in the local Tesco. They taught us the values of hard work, self-reliance, compassion, and individual responsibility.

Growing up in Milton Keynes before moving to London, I am a proud Brit and grateful that this country gave my family an opportunity to aspire and build a future.

My career began in the Civil Service, working in HM Treasury and the Foreign Office. My time in the public sector was spent working on areas ranging from attracting more talent to the Treasury to national security and the UK-China relationship.

In 2022, I moved into public affairs, advising and working closely with NGOs, businesses and start-ups across the UK, Europe, the US and the MENA region. I remain passionate about foreign policy, national security, and economic development.

I studied a BA at the University of Sheffield and MA at King’s College London.
